Osmo Polyx Oil Raw 3044 offers the same high quality protection as the Original Osmo Polyx Oil without leaving a dampened effect on the timber. New untreated wood in its original form has a light ‘raw’ appearance. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw uses a small amount of white pigments to counteract the ‘damp’ look that will develop with clear oils. The end result is a smooth beautiful finish with nearly invisible protection.

PREPARATION
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of all dust and dirt contaminants. The maximum moisture content of the timber is 20%. To ensure the integrity of the finish and performance, Osmo recommend all traces of previous finishes are removed and the oil applied to clean, bare wood.
Existing oil finishes should be sanded back to clean bright wood prior to application of Osmo Polyx Oil Raw
Pre-existing paints, varnishes, waxes and sealers must be removed completely, either by sanding or with a suitable paint stripper/remover.
Sand carefully before application, starting with coarse paper.
Final sanding for flooring: P100-150
Final sanding for furniture: P180-240
Ensure all sanding dust has been removed thoroughly from the surface. Degrease and remove surface contaminates using white spirit if required. Use a Wood Filler or Gap Sealer when repairing small holes/dents. It is not recommended to use the Osmo Wood Protector 4006 base coat when applying Osmo Polyx Oil Raw as this will darken the appearance of the wood.
APPLICATION
Always conduct a test area before starting your project to check product suitability and final finish. Ensure you are following the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin at all times. It is recommended to allow the oil to warm t room temperature and stir thoroughly before application for optimum results. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw is ready to use, please do not thin.
Apply Osmo Polyx Oil Raw thinly and evenly along the wood grain with an Osmo Soft Tip Brush or lint-free cloth, ensuring you are working the oil into the surface of the wood.
Larger areas should be finished using the Osmo Floor Brush (with Osmo Telescopic Handle)
Allow for good ventilation when applying and whilst the finish is drying.
Repeat for the second coat once the first coat has fully dried
For cupboards, wardrobes and drawers, it is recommended to apply just 1 thin coat
Please Note
Over application can result in a ‘white wash’ finish due to the white pigments which will not dry out.
AFTER CARE
Regular Cleaning
For daily maintenance in domestic use a floor mop or vacuum cleaner will suffice as well as use of the Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray Cleaner. These are non-aggressive treatments suitable for regular cleaning.

Clean the affected area to ensure it is free from dust or debris contaminates
Lightly rub using a Scotch pad or P120-150 sandpaper
Remove traces of sanding dust
Re-apply a thin coat of Osmo Poyx Oil Raw to the affected area, producing an invisible repair
